Questions are
always welcome.

If you cannot find the answer you need, please get in touch. We can talk through the details together.

Ask Karen a question
Who do you work with?

I offer one-to-one counselling for adults aged 18 and over. Sessions can take place in person in Corby, online or by telephone.

What is the free consultation for?

The 15-minute consultation gives us a chance to introduce ourselves, talk briefly about what you are looking for and answer your questions. We can discuss whether working together feels right for you before arranging a session.

Do I need to prepare anything?

You do not need a prepared story or a clear explanation of what is wrong. It is fine to begin with how you have been feeling, or simply say that you are not sure where to start.

How much does counselling cost?

Online and telephone sessions cost £45. In-person sessions in Corby NN17 cost £55. Each session lasts 50 minutes. Concession rates may be available; please ask about eligibility.

How long are sessions, and how often would we meet?

Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes. We can discuss appointment frequency and whether short-term or longer-term work would suit your needs during your initial conversation.

Are weekend appointments available?

Appointments are available on Thursdays and Fridays, during the daytime and evenings, with limited weekend late-afternoon appointments. Please contact Karen to discuss current availability.

When is payment due?

Payment is required in advance to confirm your booking. If payment is not received within the agreed timeframe, the session may not go ahead.

What happens before my first session?

If you decide to continue after the initial consultation, Karen will send you a client information form and counselling contract to complete before your first session. This is also a chance to clarify the practical arrangements and ask questions.

Where are in-person sessions?

In-person counselling is available at Mind in Corby, 18 Argyll Street, NN17 1RU, and Podiatry Plus Corby, 2 Oakley Road, NN17 1NA. Karen will confirm your venue and arrival details when arranging your appointment. Please contact Karen directly for bookings or to discuss access requirements. Podiatry Plus recommends NN17 1UJ for sat-nav.

What do I need for an online session?

A private place where you can speak comfortably is a helpful starting point. We can discuss how to connect and the practical arrangements before your appointment.

Can I ask about confidentiality?

Yes. You are welcome to ask how confidentiality works, including its limits, and how your information is handled. Ask Karen for the practice’s full privacy information and counselling agreement before you begin.

What if I need to cancel or change an appointment?

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made 48 hours or more before a session are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice and missed sessions are charged in full. If Karen needs to cancel, she will give as much notice as possible and offer an alternative appointment where available.

Do I need to share your faith?

No. My Christian faith informs my personal values, and I respect your beliefs, background and culture. You are welcome whether you have a faith, a different faith or no faith.
