Space to be heard
You can bring what feels important, even if it is difficult to explain. I aim to listen with empathy and without judgement.

EXPERIENCE THAT INFORMS MY WORK
I have over nine years’ experience working within NHS mental health crisis pathway services. This has involved supporting adults with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including people with complex mental health needs and from diverse backgrounds.
Alongside my private practice, I also work with a hospice in Corby, a service supporting women survivors of childhood sexual abuse in Leicester, and a men’s wellbeing service.
This work includes supporting grief, loss and complex bereavement, and offering trauma-informed, person-centred counselling for experiences of early sexual trauma. I work at each person’s pace, making space for questions of identity, relationships, shame and self-worth.
Reflective supervision and ongoing professional development support my commitment to thoughtful, ethical practice.

MY APPROACH
Not a problem to solve.

Person-centred counselling places your experience at the heart of our work. Rather than deciding what your life should look like, I aim to understand how it feels to be you and support you in exploring your own choices.
I work within a pluralistic framework. This means recognising that people need different things from counselling, and that there is no single approach that suits everyone. We can talk about what you hope for and what feels useful as we work together.
Where appropriate, I may bring coaching approaches into our work. Alongside exploring your experience, we can consider the meaningful, practical changes you would like to make in your life.
My aim is to work alongside you with compassion and respect for your capacity for growth. You do not have to arrive with the right words or a ready-made plan.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
You can bring what feels important, even if it is difficult to explain. I aim to listen with empathy and without judgement.
You are the expert in your own experience. Your preferences, needs and hopes help shape our conversations.
There is no need to tell your whole story at once. We can begin with what you feel ready to explore.

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE
My Christian faith informs my personal values. I also fully respect that your beliefs, culture and background may be different from mine.
You do not need to share my faith to work with me. If spirituality is important to you, there is room to explore it. If it is not, our work can focus on the things that are.
